There is nothing moral about this logic of "but that's why we raise them" — it's just a way of talking about owning sentient beings as if it were a normal thing to do. As if raising someone for a specific purpose is enough to make that automatically "right." Such a statement explains nothing except how deeply exploitation is rooted in our everyday lives.
The vegan position rejects this logic: the idea of use—the claim that someone can determine the “purpose” of other sentient beings.
